Texas-born, L.A-based musician Jess Williamson has been releasing country-tinged folk on Mexican Summer since 2018, and already has 2 albums under her belt. Her new single 'Pictures of Flowers', featuring fellow L.A folk project Hand Habits, is part of Mexican Summer's Looking Glass series, which includes songs from various members of the label's family such as Bedouine, and Connan Mockasin.All Bandcamp profits from 'Pictures Of Flowers' are being donated to Harriet’s Apothecary - an affordable Brooklyn healing village, led by "Black Cis Women, Queer and Trans healers, artists, health professionals, magicians, activists and ancestors'", who help create "all-gender honoring, community healing spaces". 'Pictures of Flowers' is utterly gorgeous; with slide guitar that gives a 90's Mazzy Star vibe, along with Jess' country-spirited vocals.
